Let's meet the cast:
✦ MATT ROBIDOUX ~ Matt Robidoux (they/he) is a San Francisco based composer, improviser, and educator interested in sound-gesture causality and the convergence of movement and sound as it relates to free improvisation and accessibility. Their primary instrument is the “corn synth” (Kinetically Operated Randomness Network), a modular system that interprets physical input from two “ears of corn” sculptures cast in aluminum.
They are part of a composer collective with Sally Decker, Brendan Glasson, Briana Marela, Michelle Moeller, and Mitch Stahlmann, and Flatways, an electroacoustic improvising trio with Jordan Glenn and Sudhu Tewari. They have a duo with Laetitia Sonami called The Gleaners that often collaborates with Paul DeMarinis. They have worked with Creativity Explored, Del Sol Quartet, Fred Frith, Eclipse Quartet, Dustin Wong, Julius Smack, William Winant, Jaap Blonk, Laura Steenberge, Sunburned Hand of the Man, Anla Courtis, J Mascis, Wendy Eisenberg, and gabby fluke-mogul.
They hold a MA in music composition from Mills College, where they studied with Roscoe Mitchell, Zeena Parkins, John Bischoff and James Fei. Their scholarly work is featured as a chapter in Improvising across Abilities: Pauline Oliveros and the Adaptive Use Musical Instrument via University of Michigan Press (2024). Matt has performed throughout North America, Europe, and Japan and has work available on Already Dead, Null Zone, Crash Symbols, Feeding Tube Records, Mystra, Exploding In Sound, Ydlmier, Carpark Records, and most recently their own imprint Air Tone.
✦ ALONE-A ~ "a veil, a prism", the debut album from Minneapolis electroacoustic artist alone-a, foregrounds the human voice while digitally fracturing, refracting, and reshaping it in real time. Built from live vocal improvisations recorded between 2023 and 2025, the album explores memory and transformation through layered delays, unstable loops, and intimate vocal textures. "a veil, a prism" treats technology not as a tool for polishing the voice, but as a means of revealing its fractures and emotional weight, offering a work grounded in the beauty of impermanence.
✦ TENDER MEAT ~ Electronic duo Tender Meat have packed the back rooms and alleys of Minneapolis for years. While their seedy digital/analog live sets are the stuff of Twin Cities urban legend, their albums are the only solid proof that the time you saw them play in the deepest depths of the city wasn’t just a figment of your imagination. Tender Meat is real. While the the duo split the duties of keyboard and drums, Andy Fritz and Joe Coe share the task of creating Tender Meat’s electronic oddness.
And there’s no doubt, Tender Meat is a cyber oddity: a band for the AOL age with albums on the acclaimed Moon Glyph, Night People, and Totally Gross National Product labels, and their noisy mix of house, ambient and electronic experimentation, Tender Meat make it clear: “You’ve got mail!"
✦ THE USED CONDO EXPERIMENTAL ROCK BAND OUTFIT ~ USED CONDO IS A TAPE_LOOPY/SAMPLE BASED EXPERIMENTAL ELECTRONIC PROJECT. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN IT'S A ROCK BAND INSTEAD? WHY WOULD WE EVEN WANT THAT?
