BIZLANG
An collaboration between Christian Erickson and Alana Horton.
BIZLANG ā a collaboration between Christian Erickson (Byzantine Beatbox, The Sevateem, Astronaut Wife, Woodland Mall 1981) and Alana Horton (alone-a, The Controversial New "Skinny Pill") ā is a shared vocabulary of voice, loops, beats, synthesis, noise, patterns, math, oracles and vibes built over a year-long practice of duo improvisation.
Green Button
An improvisational project of May Klug and Jo Kellen.
May Klug is a Minneapolis-based composer/performer/improviser who explores the networks of technological development, industry, and modern social life through her deep relationships with pieces of audio equipment and electronic instruments. Her performances blend electroacoustic experimentalism with the visual aesthetics of pop, high-femme fashion, and camp theatrics. Mayās primary electronic collaborators are Casio CZ-101 synthesizers, through which she generates sounds that capture the natural process of memory loss in volatile RAM. She also has built a variety of feedback systems and works with Max/MSP. Her work celebrates the agency of these unpredictable machines.
Jo Kellen is a founding member of art-punk projects the Florists and Products Band. These projects have released more than 10 collective albums and EPs since 2015. As a primary songwriter, lyricist, and performer, Joās work has been praised by outlets such as The Current, Atwood Magazine, Racket, Brooklyn Vegan, and Midwest Action for its sharp wit and inventive arrangements. Along the way, theyāve traveled the country and shared stages with artists like Gang of Four, Deerhoof, A Savage, DEHD, and Water From Your Eyes.
